I signed up for an online dating service late last year. In browsing the pictures I noticed an all too common theme in which people had only 1 picture up, or they mislabeled themselves as “about average weight” when they should have said “a few extra pounds”. Now, being overweight is a serious problem, but it is nothing to be ashamed about. By lying about their weight or putting up a fuzzy photograph (taken at a weird angle) these people were trying to fool their potential dates into thinking they are someone they are not.

Top 10 Places Women Hate Being Hit On

By Joyful | November 18th, 2009 | Posted in Top Tens

42-21426013I know you guys feel like you have the right to hit on a girl anywhere you please but sometimes it is inappropriate. If I’m at a bar, with a low-cut dress on, yes, hit on me. But if I am just going about my day, then there are times, I am just not interested.

How to choose a good mate

By DateSpaces.com | November 15th, 2009 | Posted in Ask Our Staff

Business_Woman_Confused1 Choices, choices. How does a person decide that they like one person over another? It is definitely more than just seeing a good looking guy/girl out there and being sold for life. I believe it has a lot to do with a whole mixture of different factors. Kinda like making a cake. You have to add in all of these ingredients until you get the mix for the cake that you like the best. One person may like carrot cake, while another prefers chocolate cake.

Review:
I would like to take a break from some of the more traditional NY hotspots and introduce you to Grand Sichuan International. Owner Xiaotu Zhang (and Sichuan expert) explains that he is looking to “fix” what is wrong with Chinese food today. He explains that since 2002, Restaurant Magazine has not listed many Chinese restaurants in their “top 50 list”. He is taking a break from traditional cooking (MSG/etc) and focusing more on healthy ingredients and innovative ways of preparing the same general dishes you can get any any given Chinese restaurant. PR aside, I had a chance to check out Grand Sichuan last week and thought it might be a great place for those daters who are on a budget.

In our ongoing quest to introduce DateSpacers to the best date locations at the best prices, the major steak chains have been making our lives very easy of late. First. Ruth’s Chris Steak House offered a $40 prix-fixe that, given the menu options, carnivores could certainly bring their vegetarian dates to feast upon. Then, last week, The Palm announced a $45 surf-and-turf special. And this week, McCormick & Schmick’s one-ups the famed steakhouse with the same deal but at 1/3 the price. In honor of Valentine’s Day (so the restaurant claims), M&S offers a three-course steak-and-lobster-tail dinner for only $30 a pop, so if you’re searching around for an inexpensive but awesome V-day meal, look no further.
