TagFirst off, what are tags?

Tags are one-word descriptors that you can assign location pages on DateSpaces.com to help other users identify great date places based on their unique characteristics. Tags are a little bit like keywords, but they’re chosen by you, and they do not form a hierarchy. You can assign as many tags to a location page as you like.

For example, if you were tagging a bar like PDT, you could tag it with words like “hidden” “underground” “secret” or whatever other tags you might think other DateSpacers would use to find it during their searches. Make up tags as you need them, and use the tags that make the most sense to you.

If you don’t get it right away, that’s OK — you don’t have to. Tagging is pretty intuitive and can take some practice to fully understand. Try it and experiment a bit! There are no wrong tags.

How do I tag?

On every DateSpaces location page, there is a field for tags. You’ll notice lists of tags in this field already. Once you’re registered and logged in, you can start adding as many new tags as you would like to describe that particular location. All tags are separated by a space.

The only limitation on tags is that they must not include spaces. So if your location page is part of a two-word neighborhood like “Meatpacking District”, you may want to tag it as md, meatpacking-district, MeatpackingDistrict, meatpacking.district, or whatever else makes sense to you. You probably don’t want to use commas, though, since a comma will be become part of the tag.
