Borrow a friend’s car and head on up north to one of the last vestiges of a bygone era — a time when people who were “going steady” would “neck” in the back seat while pretending to be actually watching a feature film. A two-hours drive from the GWB and you’ll find yourself transported back more than two decades. Heck, when it’s all done and you’re back in the city, you’ll both want to stop at Homer’s World Famous Malt Shoppe on Amsterdam for a burger and a shake before returning to your domicile. Groovy man…

It’s always double-feature night at the Overlook, and the movies are current. The sound is transmitted through your car’s radio on an FM station. It’s $7 per person on the weekends, and they have concessions available, but something tells me if you’re planning on taking the trip up, popcorn is the last thing on your mind.

N.B. Save this very special date for when you truly are an item — after all, you’ll be spending anywhere from 6-8 hours together in a cramped automobile, and if you’re not ga-ga over your passenger, that may feel like an eternity.
