snl101myersrichman010704.jpgDear DateSpacers:

Ever find it hard to find something to talk about on your dates? Oy! Don’t I know! Finding a topic of conversation can be tougher than keeping my sister-in-law Sari out of the shoe department at Nordstrom’s. Forget it!

Well, don’t worry, Bubbalas. We all have this problem sometimes. But with the help of my idol, Coffee Talk’s Linda Richman, you’ll see it’s no big whup. What this woman can do! Here are a few of Linda’s topics to resort to in the event of an awkward silence:

- The New Deal was neither new nor was it a deal.

- The peanut is neither a pea nor a nut.

- The Thighmaster is neither a thigh nor a master.

See how it works? It’s like butter. You can even try coming up with your own. It can be tricky: a highchair, for instance is both high and a chair. Just try your best. Here’s what I’ve come up with so far:

- The Bush Doctrine is neither a bush nor a doctrine.

- Super Bowl XLII was neither super, nor a bowl, nor 42.

- DateSpaces is neither a date nor spaces.

Discuss.

1. DateSpace of the Week
This week’s DateSpace of the Week is Ouest, for the best dollar-to-deliciousness ratio this side of the Hudson. “Mondays through Fridays, as long as you place your order before 6:30pm, you can experience a ‘25-for-food’ in Zagats for only $34…Also, if you can stretch your budget to $50 per person, be sure to order a drink, any drink…The cosmos are virtually bottomless, and a simple ‘Jack-on-the-rocks’ contains a generous two-shots worth of Sour Mash.”

Nota Bene: It’s not “Quest,” but “Ouest”–French for and pronounced, “West.” Ouhat do the French have against “W”s anyway? Oh, right. And yes, that’s our second joke about the letter “W” in a month.

Been on a really great date lately? Suggest next week’s DateSpace of the week by emailing eric@datespaces.com.

2. This Week at The Daily Dater
Letty breaks it down for a man obsessed with Asian women. The skinny: it’s probably not healthy to be totally fixated on a single race, unless, of course, you’re training for the Boston Marathon. And even then, the distance!

Happy Dating to You and Your Family!
