Review:
I would like to take a break from some of the more traditional NY hotspots and introduce you to Grand Sichuan International. Owner Xiaotu Zhang (and Sichuan expert) explains that he is looking to “fix” what is wrong with Chinese food today. He explains that since 2002, Restaurant Magazine has not listed many Chinese restaurants in their “top 50 list”. He is taking a break from traditional cooking (MSG/etc) and focusing more on healthy ingredients and innovative ways of preparing the same general dishes you can get any any given Chinese restaurant. PR aside, I had a chance to check out Grand Sichuan last week and thought it might be a great place for those daters who are on a budget.

I know you guys feel like you have the right to hit on a girl anywhere you please but sometimes it is inappropriate. If I’m at a bar, with a low-cut dress on, yes, hit on me. But if I am just going about my day, then there are times, I am just not interested.
Choices, choices. How does a person decide that they like one person over another? It is definitely more than just seeing a good looking guy/girl out there and being sold for life. I believe it has a lot to do with a whole mixture of different factors. Kinda like making a cake. You have to add in all of these ingredients until you get the mix for the cake that you like the best. One person may like carrot cake, while another prefers chocolate cake.

Most of you guys are pretty fluent when it comes time to picking up chicks in a bar. This little FAQ is designed for the guys who constantly find themselves coming home empty-handed after a night out at the bars.
This week of off topic dating links includes a trip down memory lane to 1990’s video dating, Trenita who is “just looking for someone to have fun with” and why office dating is a no-no.

I signed up for an online dating service late last year. In browsing the pictures I noticed an all too common theme in which people had only 1 picture up, or they mislabeled themselves as “about average weight” when they should have said “a few extra pounds”. Now, being overweight is a serious problem, but it is nothing to be ashamed about. By lying about their weight or putting up a fuzzy photograph (taken at a weird angle) these people were trying to fool their potential dates into thinking they are someone they are not.
Dear DateSpacers,
Feel like no one ever notices you–like you’re not catching any eyes the way you want to? Well, we could all use a little help standing out. Here’s an idea: suspenders. You know, like the red ones firefighters wear to keep their pants up? Totally underrated.
