How to Plan a Date
DateSpaces.com not only helps you find great places to go on a date, but we can also help you design a whole night’s itinerary, keep track of your plans, and share them with your partner. You can even map out destination-to-destination directions, so you never get lost getting from the restaurant to the theater, or finding that small hidden bar.
We want to help you set the stage for a great evening of fun and romance. You can create a date itinerary in two ways:
Start from My Datebook
1. When you’re in the “My DateBook” section, look for the button that says “Create a Date”. When you click on it, you’ll see that a gray plus (+) sign appears at the top of the page. You now have a blank itinerary to which you can start adding locations.
2. Browse our Date-abase to find a DateSpace appropriate for your date. When you’ve found a DateSpace you like, click on the “Add to Current Date” button on that DateSpace’s location page. Doing this will make that location “Act 1” of your itinerary. (For more on searching the Date-abase, see: How to Search the Date-abase.) You can keep adding locations in this manner until you have a complete itinerary. Mix and match DateSpaces you like to create a unique experience for each date.
3. Once your itinerary is complete, you enter the day and month of the date so it can be added to your calendar. When you’re through, click the “Save the Date!” function, and the full itinerary will be saved in your DateBook.
Start from any DateSpace’s location page
1. The process here is the same as above, but you start on any DateSpace’s location page.
2. Look for the button labeled “Add to My DateBook.”
3. Clicking this button will start an itinerary with this location as Act 1.
4. Continue to add as many additional “Acts” as you want by clicking “Add More Locations” and then click “Save the Date!” when you’re done to save the itinerary to your DateBook.
Here’s an example date itinerary (insert screen shot of an itinerary)
Act 1: Dinner at Bianca Restaurant
Act 2: Drinks and Bar Louie
Act 3: Live Music at Bowery Ballroom
Once you’ve designed the perfect date, you can map it out as well as email it to your partner so they know what cool plans you’ve picked out. Just go to your DateBook and click the “Map It” and “Invite your date” buttons to next to your itinerary. And remember, if you play it well, you may even get an encore!
