This is a great date place for those who don't have a lot of money to spend on a date, but still want to make a good first impression. Practice your chopstick skills prior to coming (when you can catch a fly in mid-flight, you are ready). The atmosphere is a typical Chinese restaurant with the hustle and bustle of the waiters to and fro. I think the decor really sets the place apart from other Chinese restaurants as it looks like a high-end place (read: costly).
All in all, if you are on a budget and are looking to break away from the usual steakhouse cattle car joints, Grand Sichuan might be right up your alley. The food is reasonably priced and has a nod towards healthier food (MSG: bad).
If you are feeling brave, give the pan fried eel a try. My favorite dish is the Kung Bao Chicken. Priced at $10.50 for a large dish, you honestly can't go wrong.

Reasonably priced from $6-$20
Atmosphere
A Chinese restaurant with all the sights, sounds and smells that make your palette water with anticipation of what the waiter is about to bring to your table. At first glance the decor at the 7th ave. location looks like it might be a very expensive place to eat but after a quick glance at the menu you start to realize that you can take a date here and give him/her the impression that you are eating at an expensive place when in reality you are not.
